Fly fishing is more than just fishing...it is an art form that is easy to learn and has infinite skills to perfect.
If you are visiting here in the Florida Keys and have never held a fly rod before, in a few short minutes I can share with you some basic techniques of rod stroke and line control that will set in motion a lifetime of enjoyment to share with sons, daughters and grandchildren.
After a short time of instruction we can take your new skills out to the shallow flats of the Keys, backcountry of Florida Bay or even in Everglades National Park and sight fish for game fish like tarpon, bonefish, permit, snook, redfish, jacks, barracuda or sharks.
For those that are already proficient at fly casting but don't utilize the benefits of techniques like the "double haul" or "water loading", I will be happy to help you as much or as little as you would like.
There is also more than just fishing going on down here in Southern Florida. If you are into bird watching, the bird life here is incredible. Broadwing Hawks, Eagles, Snowy Egrets, Great White Herons, Roseate Spoon Bills, Ibis, etc. The list is endless. Marathon Wild Bird Center. We will see many more incredible creatures as well. Manatees, Porpoise, Sting Rays, Spotted Eagle Rays; again the list is endless.
